Anyone who can run a marathon can do this even if they walk it ALL & believe me we walked a lot. It cost £1 per mile & £10 to camp. Showers, loo's & food onsite & after the race it's bar & dancing. Mission accomplished!'

Lyme Run. 5th August 2012. Epic XC run from Chard to Lyme Regis.
Marie writes 'Simon put together a nice Blue Peter map for us this year. Taking part from Claire House at 10am was Bern,Helen & Cassie, Addie, Anna, Martin, Paul Fraser & Marie. The heavens had opened but from Forton it was blue skies all the way. Helen & Cassie left us at Forde Abbey when we continued to the first refreshment stop at Thorncombe where the rest of The Wadey bunch were waiting. We reached Lamberts Castle making only 9 miles & had not got lost yet.
More snacks & drinks. Addies family had come to support & Emma was waiting for Paul,Ahhh. Simon & Claire joined the group from here but we made the mistake of giving him the map. He's great at sticking them together but very fussy about reading them to the letter. We arrived in Lyme after just 17 miles, for the first time ever we followed the correct route. We must make sure Gordy comes next year so we can show him what it's really like.  Chris was on the beach flying the union jack, accompanied by Helen, Emma, Addies family & friends & Anna eventually found her brood. Brave swimmers were Addie, Marie & Oscar (fully clothed) the rest were lightweights, Simon only went right in cuz he was spashed. Sunshine, sandcastles & cider! Bring it on for next year.
